Things to do in Birmingham this Summer

While we try and fend off the clouds and the rain, we can’t help dreaming of Summer and there are lots of exciting things going on in the city this year. Here are our top picks of things to do in and around Birmingham, so take a look and get them pencilled into your diary!

Circus Funtasia

From 4th – 8th June the big top takes to Pelsall Common. You can expect gymnasts and jugglers, fire eaters and motorbikes, there’s plenty to see and not just for the kids. The live show is back for another year, bigger and better than ever, we will definitely be booking tickets to see this.

Timber Festival

This one is for nature-lovers, daydreamers and big-thinkers. Timber festival returns to the National Forest from 5th – 7th July. The festival is full of art, theatre and live performances with something for everyone to enjoy.

A small person’s guide to the orchestra

This event looks to be great fun for young families. The event is held on 12th and 13th July to give toddlers and young children the chance to experience music in a way that they haven’t before. With craft activities and a chance to meet the musicians, as well as live performances, there is a lot to enjoy and explore.

Simmer Down Festival

One of the most popular festivals in Birmingham returns for another year. On Sunday 21st July, Handsworth park will be filled with people celebrating Birmingham’s cultural diversity. This event is totally free and there will be workshops, live music, spoken word and lots more throughout the day. Keep an eye out online to find out more about the programme.
